Whenever I see sheet masks with snail mucin I tend to throw them into my cart without second thought. The abundance of glycolic acid and proteins that hydrates the skin, promotes cell regeneration. That being said, nothing feels better than putting on a snail sheet mask for 20 minutes and then peeling it off to reveal brighter, healthier looking skin almost immediately. That being said, I couldn’t wait to try Goodal’s Premium Gold Snail Hydrogel Mask when we won it from fuckyeahkoreancosmetics on Instagram.
- 10,000 ppm of golden snail mucin- hydrates the skin, gently exfoliates and brightens. Golden snail mucin is also known for relieving stress and protecting against environmental hazards such as UV.
- Pure gold- to help brighten and soothe skin, tightens loose skin and aids in erasing fine lines.
- Silk extract-helps strengthen skin barriers
- Hydro-gel mask- mask made up of essence thickened into a gel material.
How to Use:
After cleansing and toning your face, apply the top and bottom parts of the mask, aligning the eye, nose, and mouth holes to fit your face comfortably. Leave the mask on for 20 minutes, pat remaining essence into your skin.
How it Worked for Me:
After cleansing and toning, I applied Benton’s snail bee high content essence, and then opened the mask. Like most hydro-gel masks, it was split into two halves of the face, and wrapped in a thin plastic strip that tends to help you when applying the mask onto your face. The mask itself was so slippery that it took me quite a bit of time to successfully apply it to my face. Walking around, or even sitting up was difficult because the mask tended to slide down and around a bit. I left the mask on for a bit longer than instructed (mostly because I was too caught up in “She Was Pretty” to look away), and tapped the remaining essence into my skin and let it dry before finishing my routine. Upon first inspection, my face looked bright and felt moisturized. The dark circles under my eyes seemed less noticeable and skin looked plump.
-Hydrating, skin plumping
-Gives skin healthy, radiant glow
-Soothed irritated spots and evened skin tone
-Fit well on my face
-Didn’t have a strong scent
-Had a lot of essence that absorbed well into my skin
-Since it is a hydro-gel mask, they tend to go for around $7, which is somewhat pricey compared to $2 cotton sheet masks.
-Didn’t stay on face well unless I was laying down.
1-Bad, had a reaction, would not buy again
2-Did not work
3-Worked, but nothing special
4-Great product, but has the potential to be replaced
5-Holy Grail, it’s the cat’s meow!
While I love hydro-gel masks, and this one worked well for me, the price is a bit much for something I would buy often when there are other, cheaper hydro-gel masks that work just as well.
